After participating in tweets and getting to know the network better helped me look at twitter in a much different light. Although I'll admit I'm definitely not fit to be in the categorization as a "twitter addict" but I can confidently say that I got more accustomed to using the program and taking advantage of people, companies, restaurants, or TV shows that you can follow.
Most of my tweets didn't really pertain to anything I believe was worth while to anyone following because they were more like descriptions of my day or how I was feeling. I enjoyed and had fun reading the MTV tweets, which predominantly feed you in on the latest gossip and the sites you can find them on. I can see how twitter is so successful, you can also see how this is reflecting the recent changes on facebook. Facebook has now set up the home page as your twitter may be, which is used by displaying people's statuses. This in itself shows the impact that it is having on the public and companies as well as the pressure it is now putting on other social networks.
I'm sure the more I use this network and the more friends I continue to build it will get me hooked as it has to most people.

CNN's iReport
After recently touring the CNN building in Atlanta during my spring break this past week I was introduced to i-report (iReport). Similar to the well known youtube, iReport is a public journalistic site where anyone around the globe can post photos or video's on any breaking news that they have encountered. This site was created in 2006 to take advantage of citizen's availability to certain events. iReport takes a page of wikinews by allowing and encouraging the public to submit stories, photos, and videos from anywhere and from any source, such as a phone, camera or computer.
The site didn't become a hit until 2007 when a video was submitted to the iReport site from a graduate student who had captured the sounds of gunfire at the Virginia Tech Masacre. CNN had paid the student for rights to the video that he had shot as well. This notable event shows how the immediacy of such content on a site such as iReport helps to disclose a certain story/event when the news reporters aren't able to attain such information.

New Facebook
Why is it once we get used to the new layout of Facebook they decide to change it once again. And these I might add are changes that aren't helping the site in any way. It just causes mass chaos and leaves more work for users because they end up sitting on their Facebook accounts to relearn how to maneuver through the site.
The new facebook looks like somebody threw up everywhere because all sense of organization is lost. There are icons of new videos and photos and comments by random people flooding my home page. I haven't liked the changes since they began with the introduction of the tabs to separate all the information from each other. It seems as if facebook has lost all sense of expression, by moving applications to a seperate page, such as bumper stickers or top friends off the main page. That effects what people see when they click on a person's profile. So, unless someone is doing a full out "facebook stalk" its hard to get a upfront and good idea of what people are trying to portray on their page. In my opinion facebook is getting very bland especially when they try to change the site so often throwing people off their norm. And also making it into a site that isn't even attractive.
Facebook definitely needs to do a better job of listening to what it's users actually do want instead of just throwing random applications and organizational tools that no one even wants.
